Requests For Leave To Move The Adjournment Of The House On Definite Matters Of Urgent Public Importance

  • One Request: Opposition Senator Saddam Hosein sought leave to move the adjournment of the House on a definite matter of urgent public importance namely the failure of the Government to address the ongoing water shortage crisis and its dreadful impact on our citizenry if not addressed urgently. The President of the Senate was not satisfied that this matter qualified under this Standing Order.

Matter On The Adjournment

  • Two Matters: Sen. Anita Haynes raised a matter on the adjournment regarding the need for the Government to account for its disregard of the Rio Treaty when facilitating the Venezuelan Vice-President and delegation. The Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs responded.
    Sen. Wade Mark raised a matter regarding the plight of the stay at home workers in light of COVID-19 pandemic and the negative effects of this on their livelihood. Sen. the Hon. Allyson West responded.
